    premenopausal means before menopause. perimenopausal means around the time of menopause.

    peri-menopause is the stage before pre, i think that’s what my mom said. It’s when you aren’t quite pre menopause but you aren’t your normal self. It makes my mom EVIL because she’ll have a hot flash and get angry and puts the air on, in the middle of winter.

    Welcome to the club SistahGirl! Guess what? There’s no answer for this because all womens bodies react differently. I’m 44, have been having night sweats for a few years… and my periods are as regular as they come. I talked to my gyno about this and she said, “It’s different for every woman” as far as when are my periods going to stop (those dreadful little friends). I wish it was over and done with but she said, I could be having regular periods well into my 50s. It’s too individualized to predict.
