There are many different causes of night sweats. The hot flashes that accompany the menopausal transition can occur at night and cause sweating. This is a very common cause of night sweats in perimenopausal women.

What you are in is called Peri menopause. Talk to your gyno and he or she can give you something to help the night sweats. Or go to the pharmacist and they can suggest something over the counter.

Depends how old you are. If you are under 45 then its not menopause, see your Doctor there is nothing over the counter you can get.
