my MIL went through early menopause. She started in her mid-late 30′s!
However, hers was brought on early due to stress…. but I do think you can still go through it in your early 40′s. Everyone is different. Some women don’t go through it until late 60′s!

My dear Carrieki…
Well…honey…if I were you, I wouldn’t be soooo worried about such…”lousy 3 days”…-smile- There could be numerous reasons, why you may be “a few days” off “track”…It does NOT necessarily mean, that you’re starting menopause, my dear. Even though, I have a girlfriend, who came into menopause at age : 38 -which sure is quite EARLY…but…you see, it all depends on “how many eggs” you had “to begin with”…This amount varies a lot from individual to individual. I also know of a woman, who had her period until the age of 56 yrs. – so…you see, honey, its really very : individual !! Maybe you’re under a little more stress…-or- excitement, etc.- all those are factors, which can cause your cycle to be… “late” ! So…stop worrying so much & let “Mother Nature” take its course !!
Wishing you all the best for the future ! Greetings from Germany with lots of love & care… Annette***

Well, I thought I was going through peri-menopause back in Jan . My cycles have always been very out of whack and had all the classic signs from what I had read . Plus another factor was my Mom started in her early 40′s . Oh , let me add I just turned 42
. What I thought was a late period and spotted in Jan was actually Implantation Bleeding plus I spotted through out the 1st Trimester . I did not know I was pregnant I just thought things were a little off until I went to my Dr. and now I’m 34 weeks pregnant with my 2nd child
.
So, to answer your question you could be going through peri-menopause . Don’t mean to scare you with my pregnancy but this is what I went through. If you do not start your period I would definitely contact your Dr.
Good Luck

It is better to get it checked to rule out pregnancy but there are chances it could be menopause. A woman is menopausal after her periods have stopped for one year. Menopause typically occurs in a woman’s late forties to early fifties. More information and remedies at
