Everyone is different, and yes, the same thing could happen to you as it did to your mother. Did you mom have some kind of a illness that effected that? Did she have a hysterectomy? If she went through menopause early naturally, then you might too.

in general genetics is very important in reproductive system – read about it below – but 31 years after first period is not correct – read about menopause below

I believe it is possible, but rare. At 31, I don’t think anyone can. At 41, yes, there is a chance.
