Not in the late 20′s Menopause is for old people. Everyone body varies different. But it usually starts in the late 40′s or 50′s. So if your trying to have a baby the doctors will tell you to get started it your close to 36yrs old.

Usually you wouldn’t hit menopause until your mid 40s to mid 50s (it really varies from woman to woman.) However, early menopause is possible. See a doctor if you’re having menopausal symptoms that young; you likely have a hormonal imbalance and they can usually be corrected.

menopause
There is a condition called peri-menopause which basically means you get some or all of the symptoms of menopause without actually halting your egg production and menses. This can happen to women in their mid to late 30′s (my sister at 37 and my wife at 38), but it would be rare in the extreme for the late 20′s… Actual menopause at your age is almost unheard of, but cases have been recorded. It is usually caused by some other underlying issue when appearing that young. I suggest a call to the ob/gyn MD or NP at your clinic.

Not terribly likely, but it does happen. More frequently in the late 30s. But average age at final cessation of periods is 51.
